China’s Belt and Road and Innovation Strategies

Part of the Energy Innovation and Digital Technology project

Priorities set by the Chinese government have materially influenced new energy technology breakthroughs in recent years and will continue to do so. Over the last decade, China has surpassed the United States to be the largest public energy investor in clean energy technologies which include carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS), energy efficiency, renewable, hydrogen and fuel cells, other power and energy storage.
