Green Banks

Part of the Climate Finance project

National development banks have played a critical role in the development of renewable energy in major economies such as Germany and China. Our comparative research on these government-run financial institutions reveals that they often play an important coordinating and policy guidance function. In this research, we investigate the power of local and national government financial institutions in distributing green finance and stabilizing clean energy investment levels.
