A higher education professional with an academic background, Jillian DeStone supports research administration for the Climate Policy Lab and for CIERP, the Fletcher research center in which CPL is based. Her responsibilities include developing and monitoring budgets, drafting funder reports, facilitating contractor agreements and payments, overseeing gift funding, and managing the production of in-house publications. She also supports the Fletcher Language Program, an area related to her PhD, which she earned in German Studies from Harvard University in 2013. She has several peer-reviewed publications in this field and four years of faculty experience; additionally, she has published translations in adjacent fields. Taken together, her academic, service, and co-curricular activities have given her a unique understanding of research, student and faculty engagement, university structures, and the role of higher education in society, and she enjoys deploying this perspective to support climate-relevant policy research.
