Kejia Yang

Chinese Visiting Scholar

Dr. Kejia Yang is a Visiting Fellow at CPL. Her research explores how to accelerate low-carbon transitions, examining the roles of the state, industry, policy, innovation, and socio-technical system transformation. At CPL, she focuses on new industrial policy in the context of the climate crisis and rising national protectionism. Her expertise spans innovation studies, low-carbon energy transitions, electric vehicle (EV) diffusion in Norway and China, and China’s science, technology, and innovation (STI) policy.

Dr. Yang is a member of the steering group for the international Sustainability Transitions Research Network (STRN). She co-initiated and now coordinates its thematic group on Tipping Points and Pathways for Accelerating Sustainability Transitions.

With extensive international experience, she has worked in China, the UK, the Netherlands, and Norway. Before joining Fletcher, she was a post-doctoral research fellow at the TIK Centre for Technology, Innovation and Culture, University of Oslo. She also holds a Research Affiliate position at SPRU, University of Sussex.

Her past teaching includes courses on:

Dr. Yang holds a PhD in Science and Technology Policy Studies (SPRU, University of Sussex), an MSc in Innovation Management (University of Chinese Academy of Sciences), and a BSc in Computer Science (University of Science and Technology Beijing).
