Tarun Gopalakrishnan

Pre-Doctoral Research Fellow

Tarun Gopalakrishnan is a Pre-Doctoral Research Fellow with a background in law (NALSAR B.A.LLB. 2013) and international relations (Fletcher School MALD 2016). His MALD fields of study were climate and international trade policy and he received the Rubin Prize in International Law (awarded by the Fletcher law faculty) for 2015. 

He has previously worked with The Energy and Resources Institution (New Delhi), the World Trade Organization and the Centre for Science and Environment (New Delhi) on diverse climate policy issues including coal taxation, compensatory afforestation, cross-border energy markets, climate services for agriculture and operationalising the Paris Agreement. 

His Ph.D. research will evaluate rules, norms and policy processes around raising finance for adaptation and resilience, an extension of his interest in designing institutions to cope with the deep uncertainty and equity challenges posed by climate change. Recent co-authored publications include:
